Method note: this is an author analysis of public sources accessed on July 22, 2026. It is not a Produto com IA field survey and does not represent every Product Manager or organization.
Signals from 2026 point to a transition from isolated AI use to longer, integrated, task-oriented workflows. Adoption and value remain uneven: tool availability does not guarantee context, trust, governance or a changed operating system.
Method and limitations
The analysis compares public reports about product work, employment and enterprise AI use. Sources use different populations, products and methods, so percentages are not combined into one estimate. Vendor reports reflect their platforms; profession surveys reflect their recruitment and respondents. These are signals, not universal causality.
Five signals
- AI is moving beyond conversation. Anthropic’s June 2026 Economic Index describes longer agentic tasks. Product measurement moves from response quality to task completion, tools, cost, time and effects.
- Depth matters more than access. OpenAI’s enterprise report shows differences in intensity. Distribution is not capability; teams need task, quality and outcome measures.
- Brazil requires local evidence. PM3 offers a direct lens on digital product work in Brazil and cautions against importing global conclusions without context.
- Judgment remains central. Faster artifact creation increases the value of problem selection, evidence and accountability.
- Governance enters the workflow. Inventory, evaluation, permissions, approval and monitoring must follow the lifecycle.
Author recommendations
Measure correctly completed tasks, choose reversible workflows, preserve links from synthesis to evidence, version material changes, treat AI capability as product practice and match autonomy to risk.
Next: first-party data
Produto com IA provides a questionnaire for a future survey. Results will only be published after collection, inclusion criteria, sample size, processing and limitations are documented.
